Hello there. This is a six step "How to Draw" page focusing on everybody's favorite abused frog from "Ren Seeks Help". When you follow these steps, draw lightly making lines easier to erase. Honestly, if you draw lightly and darken the good lines as you go, you won't have to erase unwanted structure lines and you'll still have a nice drawing. Anyway, time for the lesson:
<-- Step 1: Start with an oval, leaning to the right slightly. This will be the frog's head. Add two smaller circles to the top, close together for the frog's eyes.
Step 2 -->: Now draw a big mouth on the oval, starting on the left, going up and then across, forming a bottom lip, and lump underneath for his chin. |
<-- Step 3: Time for a little emotion. Bump the lip line up a bit and add two creases at the edge of his mouth. With the eyes, draw the top and bottom eyelids like a "<" symbol (I guess it's a less than symbol).
Step 4 -->: More work to do on the eyes. Bring a ridge over each eye for the edges of the eyelids. Do the same for the bottoms of the eyes, but make them more round, less pointy. |
<-- Step 5: Now, bump up the skin a little by creating lumps along the frog's outline. Also put a little square on his chest as a starting point for the bandaide. While you're at it, put in his upper lip, which is a straight line that ends in a bump as it attaches to the lower lip.
Step 6 -->: Ah, this is were the frog really gets pitiful. Add his pupils but don't draw fully blackened pupils. Leave out circles to imply wetness, he's in pain and has been crying alot lately. Add a line between the eye and lip and a few more underneath the lower lip. This'll make him look like he's pooching that lip out. Lastly, add a rectangle to each side of the bandaide square. The bottom rectangle can curve out if you like, as if it was about to fall off. Darken your good lines and you have a frog ready for abuse. |
